What is the production process of PE coated Oxford cloth?

The production process of PE coated Oxford cloth is a complex process that combines traditional textile technology and modern coating technology. The following are the general steps of the process:

Oxford cloth substrate production: First, polyester fiber (commonly known as polyester) or other high-strength and durable synthetic fibers are used as raw materials.
These fibers are spun, twisted and other processes to form yarns, and then woven into Oxford cloth substrates on looms according to specific warp and weft densities and weaving methods (such as plain, twill or square weave).
Pretreatment: The woven Oxford cloth substrate usually requires a series of pretreatment steps, such as desizing, refining, bleaching, shaping and drying, to remove impurities on the yarn, improve the flatness and cleanliness of the cloth, and prepare for subsequent coating treatment.
Coating preparation: PE (polyethylene) particles or resins are dissolved into liquid or salivating coating slurry by heating, stirring and other methods.
As needed, thickeners, cross-linking agents, anti-aging agents and other additives may also be added to the coating slurry to improve the performance of the coating.

Coating: Use special coating equipment (such as scraper coating machine, curtain coating machine, etc.) to evenly and continuously coat the PE coating slurry on the surface of the Oxford cloth substrate.
The coating thickness and uniformity need to be precisely controlled during the coating process to ensure the quality of the final product.
Curing treatment: After the coating is completed, the coated Oxford cloth is sent to an oven or a heat setting machine for heating and curing.
During the curing process, the solvent in the coating slurry will evaporate, and the resin will cross-link and cure on the surface of the Oxford cloth to form a solid PE coating.
Subsequent processing: According to needs, the cured PE coated Oxford cloth may also need to undergo subsequent processing procedures such as hot stamping, embossing, cutting, and sewing.
Finally, the qualified products will be packaged and stored for sale and use.

It should be noted that the production process of different manufacturers and equipment may be different, but generally follows the above basic steps. In addition, with the advancement of technology and changes in market demand, the production process of PE coated Oxford cloth is also constantly improving and perfecting.
